The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems related to Technical Operations infrastructure. This individual ensures the secure and continuous operations of all hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy. Primary Functions:

  • Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs
  • Administer servers, workstation computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, and phones
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully copied using the appropriate media and stored at the appropriate locations
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  • Configure or modify services as necessary
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required for CPU, memory, and disk management
  • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
  • Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration
  • Maintain network and system security performing regular monitoring of any possible intrusions
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards, documentation, policies and procedures
  • Support of VoIP telephony hardware and software infrastructure
  • Provide Tier III/other support per request from various support staff

Education, Experience & Training:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
  • 3+ years Systems Administrator experience
  • MCSA: Windows Server, MCSE: Server Infrastructure, RHCSA, JNCIA/S
  • Strong analytical abilities, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner and collaboratively as a team member
  • First-rate time management skills including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks

Specific Skills:          

  • Superior understanding of the Microsoft corporate computing environment
  • Familiarity with mounting, servicing, and building server and network hardware
  • Experience with managing complex network routing, TCP/IP schema, DNS, DHCP
  • Knowledge in Active Directory, ADSI Edit, Group Policy, PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows 7 & 8, Server 2008R2, 2012R2, & Exchange 2013
  • Skilled in storage systems, clustering technologies (iSCSI, Microsoft Failover Clustering)
  • Understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL)
  • Proficient in various backup systems and methodologies

Working Conditions:

Must be able to work independently with confidence in a fast paced environment. Must be able to handle responsibility with confidence. Must be able to utilize basic office equipment, including phones, computers and faxes. Must be able to concentrate and apply logic to complete data.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Will work out of Moorestown, NJ office and will be required to be on call 2 weeks per month. May need to work evening or weekend hours in addition to standard business hours based on deliverable deadlines. May occasionally need to travel to remote offices.
